New Delhi, 8 July 2014:
The National Mission for Clean Ganga under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, organized a one day stake holder consultation on issues related to River Ganga and its rejuvenation, in New Delhi on 7 July 2014. The stakeholder included Technocrats, Administrators, scientists, Environmentalists, NGOs, Spiritual leaders from different religions, and public representatives. The consultation Plenary sessions were addressed among others by Sushri Uma Bharati (Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation) and Sri Nitin Gadkari (Union Minister for Transport and Highways). One of the four thematic groups discussed Environmental issues under the chairmanship of Justice Giridhar Malaviya (grandson of late Sri Madan Mohan Malaviya). Dr Brij Gopal was one of the panelists.
